IMPORTANCEValeura strives to minimise the potential negative environmental impact of its operations. The Company has flagged both effective environmental management and biodiversity and conservation as key material topics. These topics reflect its support of the UN SDGs 3, 6, 7, 12 and 14. In addition, the Company feels prioritising these items helps to safeguard against the risk of violating applicable laws and regulations.MINIMISING OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTOur Approach to Environmental ManagementThe HSSECQ management system is reviewed annually and updated to reflect the most relevant industry guidelines and international standards. In 2024, ISO 14001: Environmental Management System, ISO 9001: Quality Management System, and ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management System certifications were renewed. Valeura provides regular training for employees, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding of the HSSECQ management system and seeks opportunities to promote awareness of environmental stewardship to relevant stakeholders. Operations at Valeura are governed by its Health, Safety, and Sustainability Policy which is embedded as part of a comprehensive Health, Safety, Security, Environment, Community, and Quality (HSSECQ) management system. In relation to Environment, the HSSECQ management system has five priority areas, shown below, and covers all aspects of energy, water, waste, spills management, and air quality, as well as support for biodiversity in marine ecosystems.
