Safe System of Work:Valeura has implemented the Safe System of Work standard to ensure that workplace safety principles and requirements are clearly understood. Compliance with these standard mandates that a risk assessment is conducted prior to the commencement of any work, through either a Job Risk Assessment (JRA) or Job Safety Analysis (JSA), both of which are reviewed and verified beforehand. In facilities where a Permit to Work (PTW) system is in place, the appropriate permit must be raised and approved by a designated authorised person.Stop Work Authority:In addition to these stringent controls, every worker %u2013 regardless of their role %u2013 has access to the Stop Work Authority (SWA) process. This empowers workers to halt any task they deem unsafe. Such instances are promptly investigated to confirm the safety of the work before it resumes. Valeura fully supports this process as part of its commitment to fostering an empowered workforce and promoting a proactive safety culture.Reporting Hazards:Valeura has also implemented an on-the-job system for employees and contractors to report what they may perceive as unsafe acts or unsafe conditions via a Hazard Observation Card (HOC) which are made readily available in all work locations. Through this process, Valeura aims to empower its workforce to insist upon safe conditions and practices mandatory for themselves and their colleagues. Facilitating Continuous Improvement:Valeura reviews all health and safety incidents to facilitate continuous improvement and enhance its performance in these areas. Investigations follow the Company%u2019s Accident Incident Investigation and Reporting (AIIR) standard to ensure a structured approach when investigating incidents. This process includes collecting and analysing relevant data to identify root causes and applying corrective measures to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
