EXAMPLE CASE STUDY: IMPLEMENTATION OF PERMANENT MAGNET MOTOR ESP IN THE JASMINE FIELDThe Initiative:In 2024, Valeura launched a CI project in the Jasmine field in a move towards enhanced operational efficiency and reduced environmental impact. The team successfully piloted the replacement of traditional induction motor (IM) Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs) with a more superior Permanent Magnet Motor (PMM) ESP in well D-41H of the Jasmine field in November 2024. The original IM system operated by converting diesel-generated electricity into magnetic force to drive the motor, which in turn powered the pump to lift crude oil. By replacing the system with PMM ESPs, several conversion steps were eliminated. This enhances operational efficiency by significantly reducing diesel consumption, while also increasing system reliability and extending the ESPs operational lifespan. Additionally, the shorter physical length of the PPM ESP offers greater flexibility in setting depths. The Results:The CI project in the Jasmine field delivered tangible results, achieving a 30% improvement in efficiency and generating daily diesel savings. These improvements also contributed to a reduction of 0.2 tonnes of CO2e emissions per well, thereby yielding both economic and environmental benefits.Expanding the installation of PMM ESPs across Valeura%u2019s operations in Thailand presents a long-term opportunity for cost savings along with the potential to reduce GHG emissions by an estimated 43,000 tonnes over a multi-year period. Future Implementation:The significant results from the Jasmine pilot programme have paved the way for the broader adaptation of PMM ESPs in new infill wells. Valeura is now working to deploy this technology more broadly, including the Wassana Redevelopment Project, reinforcing its commitment to continuous improvement and sustainable operational performance across the organisation.EXAMPLE: DATA MANAGEMENT PLATFORM FOR HEALTH AND SAFETYIn 2024, Valeura expanded its internal data management platform to incorporate health and safety data, further strengthening its commitment to operational excellence and workforce well-being. The system automatically updates on a monthly basis, ensuring access to timely and accurate information. An automated dashboard %u2013 powered by in-house data analytics %u2013 provides real-time monitoring and tracking of health and safety performance and KPIs. This enhanced visibility enables more effective identification and prevention of safety risks, supporting a proactive approach to incident reduction and continuous improvement.092 2024 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT%uf098 Sustainability at Valeura %uf098 Environment %uf098 Social %uf098 Governance %uf098 Appendix
